weekly mischief.

Quick post from work//
Since I get/see so many things that I want what seems to be every other day--I thought I'd compile a few of my favorites and post it for you weekly (let's see how I do).
I know my girlfran clandestinecrave wrote about Charlotte Russe awhile ago and I'll have to agree with her 100%.
Most of their clothes are what I used to wear in middle/high school but they are stepping up their game.
They had two pieces that definitely caught my eye this week.

1. Crushed Satin Blazer (Washed Purple/Black/Navy)- $39.50
The reason I love this blazer so much (Bought in washed purple) is because it's a blazer with a twist. It's got the ruched sleeves and the satin touch so you can wear it to work or use it to dress up a plain outfit.
2. Metallic Brocade Shorts- $26.50 now 50% off at checkout!
I love these shorts because they are definitely ones you could pull off in the wintertime. You can wear tights underneath (plain or textured) and pair them with some wedges/booties of choice.
3.  Pleated Paperbag Pant- $26.50 now 50% off at checkout!
If you are bored with straight leg/bootcut/or even skinny's these pants are definitely worth looking into.
I've recently purchased a pair that go great with a form fitting top a cute belt and some sexy heels.

The best part of it all are the prices that Charlotte Russe has on some of their clothes.
Check it out Charlotte Russe

[shoe] impressions

It's been almost two months since I've last posted.
Honestly I've been busy out of my mind, and have had a lack of inspiration.
But yesterday I had an interesting conversation about shoes.
I have this knack for assessing peoples character by the types of shoes they wear (much like how people apply astrological signs to personality traits).
I won't go into detail how it works--just trust me on it.
However I did decide to post on some basic fall/winter shoes every girl should have in her closet this season, and divulge the shoes I've added to my own personal collection since the last time I've posted.
If you know me at all--you know I have a thing for shoes.
So here goes and this time around I'll post for you gentlemen as well ;]

Fall/Winter must haves:
1. OTK (over-the-knee) boots: I've been searching for the perfect pair and ALDO just put some on sale. The great thing about these boots are if you are short, they make your legs look long--if you are tall, they make your legs look long!

2. Assymetrical heels: these have been catching my eyes and I've seen so many different ways they have been worn. Great to pair with some cute colored socks/tights and a skirt/shorts OR just wear them plain with jeans!

3. CHUNKY heels: the oh so versatile chunky heels--and they are getting easier to find. Pair with skinnys/leggings or a great pair of form fitting jeans and either plain OR embellished top. OR you can pair these shoes with a tight dress. Good day and night shoe. Goes great with ANYTHING!

4. Wedges: Open toed-again looks sexy with some funky socks/tights with a skirt or shorts. Also these go great with dresses you want to dress down to make a little more casual. As for closed toed wedges--these are a perfect way to draw attention to some skinnys and a cute top.

5. Lace Up Combat boots: for those of you with enough courage to go for this boot do it. You won't regret it. My favorite ensemble to date--colorful tights/fringed shorts/over-sized sweater and COMBAT boots. Who said military wasn't sexy?

All shoes are from ALDOshoes.com

[insider] scoop

I'm back--super exhausted from everything but an entry is long overdue so I decided to do a quick one.
So we've all been experiencing the effects of "the bad economy" and I know that I've been doing what I can to save money. Well the best way to save money these days is to get free stuff no?

The beauty department things can get expensive especially if you are a girl.
I've recently been reaping the benefits of the Sephora Beauty Insider program.
It's like bonus rewards card and for buying stuff--of course everything in Sephora is very expensive, but you get points for buying stuff and the points accumulate pretty quickly even if you only go in there once in a while. I accumulate points by buying things like my facial regiment (face wash/moisturizer and etc), my make up basics (Bare Escentuals--yes they sell it at Sephora!), and then my guilty pleasures such as extra make up (eyeshadows, glosses, lipstick, etc.) and tools too. I also buy all my perfume and all my BF's stuff there too! (Yes Sephora is for both guys AND girls)

So here's how it works--you go into the store and apply for the Beauty Insider card/program which is totally free. They give you an actual card and you scan it everytime you make a purchase.
"How to score points: With every dollar you spend at Sephora, one point is added to your Beauty Bank balance. You can redeem your points for beauty-ful perks."
They have 100 point perks which are samples of cool things from the store, and then they have 500 point perks which are full sized things from the store or bags full of goodies ranging from make up all the way to skin care. And on your birthday--Sephora will give you a complementary "get gorgeous" gift for all beauty insiders.

They also send you awesome deals through emails--and all of the point perks you redeem are things that you can definitely use and keep in your make up caboodle.

You can also sign up online:

Here are just some of the things that I've gotten as my beauty insider rewards:

From left to right/top to bottom:
1. Phyto: botanical hair relaxing balm for anti-frizz
2. Clarins: Multi-Active Skin Renewal Serum (Youth Boost)
3. Buxom (Bare Escentuals): Lip Plumping Gloss (in Sandy)
4. Laura Mercier: Tinted Moisturizer spf 20 **One of my FAVORITES--Tinted moisturizer is very in right now!!**
5. dr. brandt: Collagen Booster (for all skin types)
6. Buxom (Bare Escentuals): Lash Mascara (in Blackest Black Ultra Noir)

7. Too Faced: Glamour Gloss (Volumizing Lip Gloss with Lip Injection comfort plump--in Pillow Talk)
8. Urban Decay: Eyeshadow Primer Potion (**Another one of my favorites!**)
9. Make Up For Ever: High Definition Microfinish Powder
10. Smashbox: Photo FInish Targeted Pore & Line Makeup Primer
11. Smashbox: Photo Op Under Eye Brightener (**Another one of my favorites!**)
12. NARS: Liquid Blush (in Orgasm)
13. Urban Decay: Stardust Eyeshadow (in Retrograde)

Hope you start accumulating points so that you can enjoy all the perks of Sephora Beauty Insider!
Until next time--(mg)

strike a [deal]

The more the merrier: clothes, accessories, and shoes of course! But at what costs? As much as I love to shop, it's hard to get myself to go out to shop in the sweltering Atlanta heat. The next best thing is staying at home and doing all my shopping online. The benefits to online shopping is that you never have to go through a bunch of things in search of your size and everything from the store is available at the click of a mouse (and you can shop in sweats or your PJs). As a college student, I did a lot of shopping online and the only disadvantage to that is the unluckiness of getting something that doesn't meet your expectations or isn't the right size. But I always stuck to the few stores that I knew very well such as Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters. But for the sake of keeping my closet a little more dynamic (all the while staying frugal), I did a little research and stumbled upon some awesome new websites that have some cute clothes and even more amazing deals! Here are the sites--check them out and enjoy ;]

1. Lulu's - Deal: 500 dollar LuLu's shopping spree contest/ $5 dollars off when you sign up for their emails

2. Go Jane - Deal: Free standard shipping off orders of $50.00 or more

3. Cutsey Girl - Deal: Summer shoe sale: Shoes for $10.00 and up

4. A'gaci - Deal: Free standard shipping off orders of $65.00 or more/ All clearance items buy one get one free!

5. ModCloth - Deal: Free shipping and exchanges both ways

6. asos - Deal: Summer Sale- Sale items 50% off! / Flat shipping rates from UK and express delivery

7. Make Me Chic - Deal:  Free ground shipping on orders over $50.00

8. boohoo - Deal: Summer sale- Sale items up to 70% off!

star [studded] summers

So we all know someone from middle school, high school, or maybe even now who was (and maybe still is) going through the "punk rock stage" and oh so distastefully rocking the studs: be it belt, shoes, or any type of hideous jewelry in desperate attempts to create some type of  fashion statement.....

Well for those of you out there....studs are finally making their way mainstream.

For those of you who don't know already, I am all about the cheap bargains as much as I am for the occasional splurge. And luckily (although sometimes unfortunate on my wallet) I am constantly adding on to my collection of clothes in the closet. However, I go through these phases where no matter how much selection I have in my closet, I am bored of everything hanging inside. Lately I've been feeling this way, and I've had multiple conversations with some people close to me who seem to be experiencing quite the same thing. I thought adding on to my clothes collection was the answer to sprucing up a boring closet and adding variety, but I found the answer in a fundamental basic: accessories!

Shoes, bags, and accessories are definitely a more fun alternative to constantly going out and buying new clothes for the sake of satisfying that mundane feeling you have about your day to day outfits. For the purpose of this entry, I will focus on studs! Lately, I have been finding more and more people rocking the studs in a quite fashion friendly and tasteful way! Not to mention, many designers have caught on to this trend and are constantly releasing beautiful and chic pieces that are sure to spice up any bland outfit! So for those of you who are bored with your summer wardrobe, do not lose hope!

It's the summer time, and I know that this is the season to dress up and look cute because 1, we aren't obligated by anything like school so we have the extra time to spend on primping ourselves and 2, there are plenty of places to be and to be seen! So take a look at some of these awesome studded accessories and add them (or things like these you can find almost anywhere) to your collection of accessories. Studs are more readily accessible in a variety of different places now-a-days, and if you are looking for bargains I'd definitely start at places like Forever 21 (MY all time favorite!!), Target, and stores you can find at any mall then move your way up to designers like Marc Jacobs, Michael Kohrs,  Betsey Johnson and even the highest end names like Burberry....something as simple as a studded belt, piece of jewelry, a handbag, or even studded shoes are sure to make your summer wardrobe a little more exciting.

red is for LOVE [of shoes]

[This post is officially dedicated to Elizabeth '©haos' Hur]

So last night I was eating out at a popular sushi restaurant in Atlanta (RuSan's) and was having a conversation with one of my newest sorority babies, ©haos, when she almost fell out of her chair as she  catches a glimpse of the newest addition to the moxie shoe collection: 'Very Prive Patent Platform Pump' by Christian Louboutin. Then we continued on to both agree that a post on the one and only Christian Louboutin would only be the next logical thing to do so here I am.

Let's start with a little background and history on Louboutin himself and his one of a kind very beautiful and yet extremely wallet robbing shoes.....

In brief: Christian Louboutin (born 1964) is a footwear designer who launched his line of high-end women's shoes in France in 1991. Since 1992, his designs have incorporated the shiny, red-lacquered soles that have become his signature. On March 27, 2007, Christian Louboutin filed an application for U.S. trademark protection of this red sole design (information courtesty of Wikipedia)

How my personal obsession with Louboutin began:
One day I was watching the film "RockNRolla" when OneTwo (played by Gerard Butler: yum) makes a comment on the female accountant Stella's (the beautiful Thandie Newton) shoes, "Nice shoes by the way...." and she replies, "Thank you. You will be able to afford a pair of your own in a couple of days." And in that entire scene, all I could see were Newton's pair of black patent platform Louboutins....can we say: love at first sight? From then on I seem to have always noticed them wherever and whenever they would appear in front of me. Then a few months later, I was watching the Regis and Kelly show when Ludacris and Kelly Ripa began comparing their shoes. Kelly Ripa was sporting a beautiful pair of Louboutin 'Double Platform Patent' pumps in nude, and of course won the "who has better shoes" contest....Ludacris should have just got up and gone home...nothing beats a pair of Louboutins. Anyways, being the college student that I am...no matter how much I allow myself to indulge in nice things, I knew that making such a big purchase on one pair of shoes would create a nice big deficit in my bank account so I continued to just look and lust....you know the whole "look but can't touch" kind of deal. But hey a girl can always always always appreciate a nice pair of shoes.
Anyways, I must have constantly lusted out loud for a pair of these shoes because one such lovely person, let's call him Boyfriend, graciously gifted me the 'Very Prive Patent Platform Pump' from Louboutin's Classic Collection as a graduation gift! Who knew, enough persistant wishful thinking (out loud) can lead to some good, and in my case some great ;] Oh and can I just say that the word 'beautiful' does not do these shoes justice. And I must admit, I will wear these shoes oh so sparingly because we all know it cost someone and arm and maybe two legs....

Christian Louboutin 'Very Prive Patent Platform Pump' by Classic Collection

On to less personal things....Christian Louboutin has made his way into the world of fashion and fame not only through his patented red soled shoes, but through his unique and wonderful variety of designs he has for his shoes. I can honestly say without any reservations that I have not seen any other designer even come close to successfully creating and marketing so many different styles and types of shoes. If you look below, you will see exactly what I mean when I say that Christiain Louboutin's collection of shoes are truly eclectic.

Just a few fun trivia facts about Christian Louboutin, his shoes, and the world of fashion and celebrities:
  • Christian has recently collaborated with famous director David Lynch and they have created an exhibition featuring rare shoes by Louboutin, they are on show at the Pierre Passebon Gallery. The exhibition is named 'Fetish'.
  • In Britney Spears' music video, "If You Seek Amy", she is wearing the Dillian Flower Louboutin's in red
  • The opening verse of the song "Knock You Down" by Keri Hilson, featuring Kanye West & Ne-Yo references the brand: "Keep rockin' and keep knockin' / whether you Louboutin it up or Reebok'n"

  • In her movie Wanted, Angelina Jolie dons a pair as the assassin 'Fox', these beige round-toed Louboutin's are from her personal collection.
  • In the Sex and the City episode "I Heart New York" Carrie wears Pink Christian Louboutin w/ chiffon cascade for her date with Big.
Just to mention a few.
And we can't forget all the A-list female celebrities seen all over rockin all kinds of Louboutin's during both the day and evening time.

The Spring Summer 2010 collection consists of over 100 wonderfully designed shoes (ranging from those sexy red soled pumps to mini heels to boots to even flats and sneakers!) that are sure to catch the eyes of everyone and to fit and appeal to any one person's unique sense of style.

bold is the new beautiful [HONG KONG by OPI]

Nail polish is one accessory a girl can never have too much of....or at least I tell myself that every time I buy a new shade.
One thing I learned over the past year with my college roommates is that a manicure is essential to not only one's fashion sense, but it also can be a communal and therapeutic activity ;] (bonding time for the girls). We used to just sit around and experiment with the 50+ bottles of nail lacquer piling up in my shabby green container.
Not only that....it's also just one of those things where you can afford (yes I have to constantly reassure myself that this is indeed the truth) to have one to match each outfit. And let's be honest one's nail polish and design can easily make or break a person's outfit....and might I go further and dare to say make or break one's sense of fashion. You know we've all seen it, the girl with the perfect mani/pedi always with the season's most up and coming colors that just brings out her outfit....and then we've seen the girl with the peeling and chipped nail polish with the color that was 'oh so last season' long overdue for a serious manicure.

So I was walking in Kroger on a milk run with my little brother--of all places-- and caught a glimpse of OPI's newest collection of nail color.
Spring/Summer 2010 say hello to 'bold'-- because bold is the new beautiful according to OPI's newest collection of nail colors for Spring/Summer 2010 titled: Hong Kong.

The description for Hong Kong by OPI is as follows: "City Edge. Shades that capture the brilliant sharpness of the cityscape. A modern mood of color and perspective for spring."
**Caveat** Another neat little thing about the Hong Kong Collection is that they have partnered up with Dell to have their laptops come in certain shades from the Hong Kong Collection.
These specific Hong Kong shades are available for customization on certain laptops produced by Dell!

The colors are from left to right:
Red My Fortune Cookie/ Bling Dynasty/ A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find/ Hot & Spicy/ Chop Sticking to my Story/ Jade is the New Black/ Suzi Says Feng Shui/ Dim Sum Plum/ Meet Me on the Star Ferry/ Lucky Lucky Lavender/ Panda-monium Pink/ Pearl of Wisdom

And of course--I had to snag both 'Jade is the New Black' and 'Suzi Says Feng Shui' to add to my endless collection.

The great thing of OPI nail polish is the quality of the polish you get out of the bottle. I've tried and have over 10 different types of nail polish brands and have found that for the price of the polish, you get your bang for the buck. Although the price is a little steep for nail polish, the finished product ultimately justifies its pricing. It lasts (with a good base and top coat) for at least a solid week with no chips (and longer on toes!!) --It is after all a professional quality and well recognized brand of nail polish.

So I must encourage you....if you don't own at least ONE bottle of OPI nail polish....I'd say Hong Kong Collection is a great place to start!

So for those of you who don't already know.
I have a special place in my heart for marcJACOBS.
I recently came across this obsession with marcJACOBS as my boyfriend and I were Christmas shopping this past holiday season at Nordstrom's....
A manaquin was holding a lovely electric yellow pouch and I just had to have it.
Ever since then my affinity for anything and everything marcJACOBS has increased exponentially and my boyfriend has officially acknowledged my full blown affair with marcJACOBS.

It also comes with a strap if you ever get lazy...and of course all the inner pockets for your gloss and phone on the go so your most important accessories don't get lost in the never ending dark blackhole of a big purse. And of course it's the perfect shade of green. This bag also comes in 5 other awesome colors. Therefore, you could never go wrong with any bag from Marc by Marc Jacobs Standard Hardware line ;]

[greetings]

Hello.
My name is Yoojin aka moxie (yes intentionally all lower cased) I am a recent college graduate and YES! I am for all things green--
A really great friend of mine once asked me "could you get any more green?" and I thought...of COURSE and after much thought/research/and lots of inspiration: mischievousGREEN was born.
At one point in time...who am I kidding...I AM always inspired by an extremely talented friend of mine who began her second to none blog clandestine craves (check it out...she's AMAZING) that catalogs just about anything and everything interesting and cool....
And I thought to myself what an ingenious all inclusive way of archiving all my interests/thoughts/wants and so much more.
So although I am a novice in the world of blogging, bear with me as I reveal to you my obsessions, compulsions, and acquired tastes [both in and out of my closet, fridge, car, and more] and who knows maybe you'll even get something out of it ;]
